Quick YouTube Download Instructions

1. Install the latest VLC Media Player from VLC Player Latest Nightly Download
2. Copy the URL of your YouTube Video and Open VLC Media Player
3. Navigate to Media – Open Network Stream
4. Enter the Video URL and Press the Convert button
5. Select the Destination File Name / Location & Profile: Video – H.264 + AAC (MP4)
6. Hit Start & Monitor the Download (time depends on size of video)
7. Go to your Destination File Location and Find your File
8. Test Play your Downloaded Video using VLC Media Player

Detailed YouTube Download Instructions

1. Install VLC Media Player

VLC Player is a free, high quality, versatile media player that contains a huge range of codecs built in and play practically all audio files and formats. For downloading our YouTube files we will be using the latest developed version of the VLC Media Player available at VLC Player Latest Nightly Download  - this works for me every-time without fail. Download the latest version and install it on your computer.

2. Copy the URL of your YouTube Video and Open VLC Media Player

Ensure the URL is in the format youtube.com/watch?v=xxx and not youtube.com/watch?v=xxx&feature=xxx or anything else.

3. Navigate to Media – Open Network Stream

4. Enter the Video URL and Press the Convert Button

To locate the Convert button hit the down arrow beside the Play button.

5. Enter the Destination File Name and Location using the Browse option. Select the Profile: Video – H.264 + AAC (MP4).

This Destination File Name and Location is what the downloaded file will be called and the location on your computer where you will find the file. As you enter this data ensure the filename ends with .mp4 as this is the format we will be saving the video in. 

6. Press the Start button and the Monitor the Streaming Process

7. Go to your Destination File Location and Find your File

Once the file has completed downloading navigation to the file location you entered previously and you will find the downloaded file with the name you specified. Test your downloaded video by Right-Clicking on the File and Selecting Open With – VLC Media Player. The video will then open and play through your VLC Player.
